101 Tickets to Paradise

I made this series of 101 oil pastel drawings during the Covid19 lockdowns in The Netherlands in 2020 and 2021. They are playful, over the top, reflecting how we see nature as modern human beings. The series is like a happy parody on the human longing for paradise; our idea that being elsewhere is better than being here and now. Landscapes, sunrises, full moons, garden ponds, and flamingos; everything is possible in these drawings and that’s what makes them so much fun.
